Tiny Stitches is an all volunteer non-profit 501(c)(3) group that was organized in 1999 to help North Georgia’s smallest, neediest new residents stay dry and warm. It was formed from the ideas of five women who believed that we should help our neighbors first. Our small group grew quickly and has become a workforce of over 200 men and women working across North Georgia - sewing, knitting and crocheting and working together to provide for the disadvantaged in the area.
Since we did not know enough about how to determine which families needed our help most, we decided to rely on the nurses in the hospitals, clinics, health departments and midwives who see the families and know their circumstances.
The Mission of Tiny Stitches is to provide basic clothing, bedding, and other items for newborns in North Georgia whose families are not able to provide for them. We work through hospitals and clinics in the counties we serve. Tiny Stitches also provides burial ensembles to any family that has suffered the loss of an infant.
